After dredging over 40,000 cubic yards or sediment from Whipple Dam last year, officials are set to reopen the park in time for trout fishing season. WTAJ-TV reports that the park opens with some new additions that include a wheelchair accessible fishing pier & an accessible ramp to access the swimming area. Structurally, there were repairs to the dam’s stone walls & there’s new pavement surrounding the park, which may be accessible to the public by Friday.
