Join the 11th MJUW Annual “Walk for Warmth”!
Jan 15, 2021

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 11th Annual Walk for Warmth has gone virtual. Between now and Saturday, February 13th walk safely while practicing social distancing. We encourage you to walk outside and endure the cold temperatures so you can experience what it would be like to live without heat.

The Walk for Warmth is a walk-a-thon to raise money for the Mifflin-Juniata Energy Bank. Often, folks in poverty are forced to make decisions about paying rent on time or paying heating costs. Donations will allow Energy Bank recipients to access funds to assist with either of these issues.

If you are unsure on how your donation can impact a family, below is a list of costs associated with heating and renting a home. Please keep in mind that each cost is estimated to support one family.
$125 = Cost to heat a home for 1 week$500 = Cost to heat a home for 1 month $550 = Rent for 1 month

The COVID-19 virus has affected everyone. Your support is needed more than ever! The economic impact will have greater consequences for vulnerable individuals who are forced to make decisions about paying rent on time or heating costs.
You can support this worthy cause by sending your donation to the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata at 13 E. Third Street Lewistown, PA. 17044 or by clicking the donate button below. Please include Walk for Warmth in the designation line.
