For many years, the Snyder County Conservation District (SCCD) has held a winter meeting for farmers in which they learn about things they can do to improve their farms, soils, and water quality. These meetings also offered pesticide credits from the PA Department of Agriculture (PDA). Recently, these meetings were held indoors in February the Friday before Presidents Day Weekend.
Due to challenges of holding indoor meetings under COVID, the Conservation District is considering holding a farmers meeting in mid- to late-March or April 2021 under a picnic pavilion. The SCCD staff is working on securing interesting speakers as well as offering PDA pesticide credits for this meeting.
